Senator Bonoff's Social Media Usage

As part of our commitment to transparency and civic engagement in government, Terri Bonoff and her campaign and communications staff use several tools including:

Please review how we use them below and understand that these tools are intended to supplement, not replace, the channels currently in place for press and constituent communication.

Twitter

Twitter LogoTwitter is free social network that lets allows users to read and send messages of 140 characters or less. We are using Twitter to keep citizens informed about what we're doing and as a way to get feedback.

You can follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/terri_bonoff

Please note:

  • The account is maintained and monitored by Senator Bonoff (usually includes “–TB” in her tweets) and members of her communications and campaign team.
  • To ensure everyone’s opinions and ideas are heard, feedback on Twitter is incorporated with feedback from public meetings, email, letters, phone calls, and in-person visits.

YouTube

Twitter LogoTo both increase transparency and save money on video hosting and streaming, we publish all of our video content to our YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/senterribonoff and embed the videos back on our site.

Send Us Your Own Video

We encourage citizens to submit questions for Terri and her staff via video. She will periodically respond to some (such as this response to a Hopkins High School student’s question) and members of her administration and staff will respond to others.

To ask a question, please record your video, post it on YouTube and send us the link via Twitter or through our contact us page. Terri or a member of her staff will record a response and we will post it online for everyone to view. Please include your name and hometown when submitting a video. We will take your video and include it in our response.

Please watch this video to learn more or check out other video exchanges with constituents.

Also note that this video share is hosted by YouTube and is governed by YouTube’s separate website policies, including its Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.  These policies apply to your use of YouTube.

YouTube Comment Policy

We expect conversations to follow the rules of polite discourse and we ask that participants treat each other, as well as our employees, with respect. We will not post comments that include:

~ Profanity and vulgar or abusive language
~ Threats of physical or bodily harm
~ Sensitive information (for example, information that could compromise public safety)
~ Offensive terms that target specific ethnic or racial groups

For the benefit of robust discussion, we ask that comments remain "on-topic." This means that comments will be posted only as they relate to the topic of the video. We will not post comments that include:

~ Off-topic comments
~ Questions from the media
~ Identical comments by the same user (please don't submit over and over expecting the post to show up faster) or multiple users (a group of people sending identical messages or one person submitting under different aliases). In the case of identical comments, we will approve the first submission.
